NEUROTOXINS

RELAX AND ENJOY

Botox and Dysport are injected into facial muscles using a fine needle to reduce wrinkles, furrows, and lines. The injection area does not require anesthesia, but numbing with ice packs or cream is available. Results usually appear within 3-5 days and last up to 4 months. At New South Family Medicine and MedSpa, Botox and Dysport are commonly used to minimize facial lines and wrinkles, including those between the eyebrows, on the forehead, around the eyes, jawline, corners of the mouth, and gummy smiles.

What are Neurotoxins?

At New South Family Medicine and MedSpa, the most popular minimally-invasive cosmetic treatment is the of neurotox like Botox® and Dysport®. These are effective in reducing facial lines and wrinkles, particularly in areas such as the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes. Additionally, neurotoxins can be used to enhance the appearance of the jawline, mouth corners, and reduce the visibility of a gummy smile.

How does it work?

The toxin, when injected into facial muscles, blocks neuron activity temporarily. This prevents complete muscle contraction, which significantly reduces the appearance of wrinkles caused by facial movements such as frowning, raising eyebrows, or squinting.

What are the advantages of Botox and Dysport?

Our treatment is both fast and effective, with noticeable improvement typically seen within 4-7 days. We prioritize your comfort and ensure minimal discomfort during the injection process. There is no downtime required, allowing you to resume normal activities immediately. Our injections create natural-looking results without any loss of sensation or numbness in treated areas. The effects are reversible and last for 3 to 4 months, with repeated injections potentially enhancing the results through muscle memory response. This non-surgical approach to wrinkle treatment eliminates the need for anesthesia and long recovery times.

Is it Painful?

New South Family Medicine and MedSpa offers the option of using a anesthetic cream or ice compresses to numb the area before treatment. Although you may feel a slight stinging sensation during the injection, it will quickly subside. After the injection, the nurse will apply compression to alleviate any discomfort.
