New South Family Medicine and MedSpa is located in the heart of Fort Mill, South Carolina
Our PRACTICE
Located in Kingsley Town Center in Fort Mill, SC, New South Family Medicine and MedSpa is a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice and MedSpa that safeguards what matters most: the patient-doctor and practitioner relationship.
DPC is a membership-based model that emphasizes longer, more personal visits with your doctor, and access directly via cell phone, text, and Zoom. For one low monthly fee, our practice is able to provide patients with longer, relaxed visits, significantly lower-cost medications/labs, and a variety of ways to connect with your personal providers, Dr. Jessica Kaiser Mendelsohn, Dr. David Mendelsohn, and Kelsey Riggs, PA-C.
In their previous practices, Drs. Jessica and David Mendelsohn had patient panels of over 3,000 patients! Through the DPC model, no physician will have more than 600 patients. This means they have 5 times longer to spend with YOU to focus on what is important for you to stay healthy. There are no co-pays and all fees are transparent. We pass all of our wholesale savings on to you. To learn more about the DPC model of care, and our practice click here.
Our PRACTICE Areas
Minor Procedures/Acute Care:
Your DPC providers at New South Family Medicine and MedSpa are experienced in multiple acute care settings. They can triage whether or not you need to go to urgent care or the Emergency Room BEFORE you go. They will sew up your laceration, remove your skin tags, biopsy a skin lesion, incise and drain an abscess along with multiple other acute, non-life-threatening emergencies. If you are sick with possible flu, strep throat, UTI, pneumonia, or other illness, they can manage most of this for you as well.
Chronic Disease Management:
Drs. Jessica and David Mendelsohn have years of experience treating chronic diseases such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Asthma/COPD, Anxiety and Depression, and Thyroid Disorders among many others. Please call if you would like to discuss whether or not they can manage your chronic illness. Please note: Our practice does NOT manage chronic pain. Drs. Jessica and David Mendelsohn do NOT prescribe chronic opioid/pain medications. They do NOT prescribe chronic, daily benzodiazepines for anxiety. Each person will be assessed on a one-on-one basis and they will make sure to get you to the appropriate specialist for these conditions.
Pediatric Care:
DPC providers see children aged 5 years and older. They can manage common pediatric ailments as well as provide well-child care and sports physicals. Please note, that Drs. Jessica and David Mendelsohn are strong advocate for vaccinations. She follows the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Family Physicians guidelines for vaccination schedules. They will discuss on a one-on-one basis if you feel the need to alternate the scheduling of your child’s vaccines but expects completion of ALL appropriate vaccinations by the time a child enters school.
Women’s Health:
At our practice we are experienced in multiple GYN issues, including regular PAP smear screenings, contraception management (including IUD placement and removals), and evaluation of abnormal menstrual cycles and menopausal symptoms.
Prevention and Wellness:
The providers at New South Family Medicine and MedSpa believe in treating the WHOLE person. This includes discussions surrounding the prevention of chronic disease, age-appropriate screening tests, goals of care, and empowering you to live your healthy life. That looks different for each of us! Every patient of New South Family Medicine and MedSpa will have a yearly Preventive Physical Visit included in membership to discuss these topics and more.
The MedSpa:
Our practice has a MedSpa that offers a variety of facials and laser skin treatments. Achieve smoother skin with our highly experienced aesthetic team. We are here to help you discover which treatments are best for you.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy:
As we age, hormone levels become imbalanced, but the hormonal balance can be achieved, as long as you are evaluated by a highly trained provider with comprehensive lab testing and in-depth initial questionnaires before creating a personalized treatment plan. There are several methods to administer hormone therapy. Each has unique benefits depending on which hormones are being replaced.
