A Better Way to Practice — and Experience — Medicine
Direct Primary Care offers the freedom and accessibility modern families deserve. It’s the future of healthcare — one built on trust, transparency, and time. We don’t accept insurance, but by billing this way, we are able to offer low-cost care and accessibility like you’ve never experienced with a medical practice.
With Direct Primary Care (DPC), you get a better, more personal healthcare experience built around your needs — not an insurance company’s schedule. Appointments are never rushed, giving you the time to truly connect with your doctor, ask questions, and build a trusted relationship.
Your membership includes unlimited visits, so you can come in for routine checkups, physicals, follow-ups, or sick visits as often as needed — with no copays, deductibles, or hidden fees. Most patients enjoy same-day or next-day appointments, meaning you get care when you need it, not weeks later. You’ll also have direct access to your provider by phone, text, or email, so quick guidance and peace of mind are always within reach.
With transparent, affordable membership pricing, everything is simple and predictable — from visits to labs and medications, which are provided at wholesale or negotiated rates. Best of all, the DPC model allows your provider to focus on preventive, personalized care, supporting your whole-body wellness through nutrition, lifestyle guidance, and early detection, keeping you healthier for the long term.
What We Treat
At New South Family Medicine, we believe in caring for the whole person — body, mind, and lifestyle. As your Direct Primary Care provider, we offer comprehensive, relationship-based healthcare for every stage of life. From same-day sick visits to ongoing preventive care, our team is here to help you stay healthy, feel better, and live well.
-
At New South Family Medicine, your DPC providers are highly experienced in caring for a wide range of acute needs.
Before you make a trip to urgent care or the emergency room, we can help determine whether that’s necessary — often saving you time, stress, and expense. We provide treatment for many non-life-threatening issues such as lacerations (stitches), skin tag removals, abscess drainage, and skin biopsies, among others.
If you’re not feeling well — whether it’s the flu, strep throat, a UTI, or another illness — we’re here to evaluate, test, and treat most acute conditions right here in our office.Your care begins with a simple call or message to your DPC team.
-
Our providers have many years of experience managing chronic health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma and COPD, and thyroid disorders, among others.
We take a personalized, whole-person approach — working with you to create an evidence-based plan that fits your lifestyle and supports your long-term well-being.
If you’re unsure whether your condition can be managed through our clinic, please reach out. We’re always happy to discuss your specific needs and help guide your care.
Please note: our practice does not manage chronic pain, and we do not prescribe long-term opioid or daily benzodiazepine medications. For patients needing these treatments, we’ll thoughtfully refer you to trusted specialists who can best support those needs.
-
Our DPC providers are delighted to care for children ages 5 and older. We offer well-child exams, sports physicals, and treatment for common pediatric concerns — all with the same accessibility and personal touch that define our practice.
We are strong advocates for childhood vaccinations. We follow the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Family Physicians to keep your child healthy and protected.
If you’d like to discuss vaccine scheduling, we’re happy to have that conversation and will work with you to ensure your child receives all recommended immunizations by the time they enter school.
-
We understand that women’s health needs are unique and ever-changing. Our team offers comprehensive care including routine pap smears, contraception management (including IUD placement and removal), and evaluation of menstrual irregularities, perimenopause and menopausal symptoms.
-
We believe great medicine begins with prevention. Our providers take time to understand your goals, values, and lifestyle so we can help you stay healthy — not just treat illness when it arises.
Together, we’ll discuss preventive screenings, healthy habits, and ways to lower your risk for chronic disease. Each DPC member receives an annual Preventive Physical Visit as part of their membership — a dedicated time to focus on your long-term wellness.
At New South Family Medicine, we treat the whole person. We offer a Wellness Program for those who want to take a deeper dive into their whole body-mind well-being. You can learn more about that program here.
Because living well looks different for everyone — and we’re here to help you define what that means for you.

We don’t accept insurance, but for a good reason. We believe insurance creates unnecessary barriers between the medical provider and their patients, and is keeping the cost of healthcare high for everyone.
Instead, we offer affordable memberships that include all primary care services. For services like lab work, we work directly with companies like LabCorp to offer you wholesale prices, which are very low.
We truly believe that this is a better way to practice medicine for both providers and patients.
-
Yes, it is highly recommended that all our patients maintain their insurance coverage. This will ensure they are prepared for the more costly aspects of healthcare, such as specialty care, emergency visits, hospitalizations, or surgery. Our office pairs well with high deductible plans, catastrophic plans, and healthcare sharing groups.
Many of our patients find that the savings of having a low cost, high-deductible insurance plan help pay for the out-of-pocket costs of being a DPC member—so you’ll have coverage in an emergency AND get the highest-quality primary care from our team of providers.
-
We have relationships with several pharmacies that can offer low-cost prescriptions. But don’t worry—we will be your medical advocate and help find options that work best for your needs.
-
Nope! We have relationships with companies like LabCorp and are able to offer our patients low-cost labs.
-
Your visit lasts as long as you need it to! Typically, new patient appointments last one hour.

At New South Family Medicine & MedSpa, we’re equipped to handle many minor emergencies and urgent care needs — such as cuts, sprains, ear infections, minor burns, allergic reactions, and other non-life-threatening issues. Our goal is to provide timely, effective care in a comfortable setting so you can often avoid the cost and wait of an urgent care or ER visit.
However, if you ever experience a serious or life-threatening emergency — such as chest pain, severe shortness of breath, heavy bleeding, head trauma, or signs of a stroke — please call 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency room.
If you’re unsure whether your situation is an emergency, you can contact our office or your provider directly during regular hours for guidance. We’re here to help you make the right decision and get the care you need, safely and quickly.

No — Direct Primary Care (DPC) isn’t an alternative or holistic practice. It’s a modern approach to traditional primary care that focuses on restoring the doctor-patient relationship by removing the barriers of insurance billing and administrative overhead. However, we do believe in the power for a person to choose what type of care is best for them, and will happily speak to our patients about natural alternatives that complement our care.
-
We are firm believers in vaccinating children to minimize the transmission of preventable diseases. As a practice, we wholeheartedly endorse all recommended childhood vaccines and adhere to the immunization schedules provided by the American Academy of Pediatrics and CDC. While we are open to considering alternative vaccination schedules, children must receive all the necessary vaccines before commencing school. We cannot provide any approval for school entry without full immunization unless there is a valid medical justification for not administering a specific vaccine.
-
Our approach to managing chronic pain does not involve the use of opioid medications. Instead, we employ alternative methods to address pain and, if chronic narcotics are deemed necessary, we will gladly refer you to a suitable specialist who can provide the appropriate treatment.
-
Being a DPC member means you’re never alone when making big healthcare choices. We are your advocates and will assist you in finding a specialist when one is required, whether it's for x-rays, scans, or procedures that we don't offer in our office. We can also help negotiate a cash price for specialty services with providers we know trust.
-
Give us a call! Because our patient panel is smaller and more personalized, we can help you even when you are sick and far away from home. Many illnesses can be managed by phone, text, or Zoom, so let us locate the nearest pharmacy and call in what's necessary. If you need to be seen in urgent care or ER, we will make a personal call describing your medical condition to the provider and send any records that are necessary for a more comprehensive evaluation.
-
If you ever need to be hospitalized, your New South provider will help coordinate your care and communicate with the hospital team to ensure a smooth transition. However, DPC practices themselves do not cover hospital or specialist fees — those services are billed separately by the hospital or your insurance.
-
Absolutely! We will email and text you a Google Meet link so you can meet with your provider wherever you are.
